Meet Brandon Hobson, the financial wizard who swapped combat boots for calculators and never looked back! A proud Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Series 65 Licensed hotshot, I kicked off my journey with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from San Diego State University. But before I was crunching numbers, I was blowing things up—literally—as a Combat Engineer in the United States Marine Corps (2003-2007). Two tours in Iraq and four years of honorable service later, I traded my GI Bill for a degree and stormed into the finance world. From auditing big shots at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to navigating the corporate jungles of CareFusion, Intuit, and Bridgepoint Education, I’ve tackled financial statements and internal controls like a Marine taking a hill. Now, as Chief Investment Officer at PracticeCFO, I’m the guy making sure your money works harder than a recruit at boot camp.
When I’m not orchestrating financial victories, you’ll find me chilling with my family, striking yoga poses that would make a drill sergeant proud, or soaking up the San Diego sunshine outdoors. Hailing from the tiny town of Preston, Maryland—population 600, including the cows—the Marine Corps was my ticket to the big leagues. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, I fell in love with California’s vibes and made San Diego my home.
